Temporary parking restrictions are being introduced on parts of Henville Road and Malmesbury Park Place in Bournemouth while SGN carries out gas mains replacement works. Henville Road restrictions run from 5 to 30 October, followed by restrictions on Malmesbury Park Place from 19 October to 13 November.
Bournemouth parking restrictions announced for gas mains works Drivers in Bournemouth are being warned about temporary parking restrictions on parts of two roads while gas mains replacement work is carried out. BCP Council has announced restrictions on sections of Henville Road and Malmesbury Park Place as SGN carries out the work. Henville Road parking bays to be suspended On Henville Road, parking bays on the western side will be suspended from 5 October until 30 October. The affected section begins 14 metres northeast of the junction with Stewart Road and extends for approximately 66 metres. During the works, the affected areas will have no parking, waiting or loading and unloading at any time. The parking bays will be suspended gradually as the work progresses along the road, with some spaces expected to become available again once individual sections have been completed. Malmesbury Park Place restrictions Similar restrictions will then be introduced on Malmesbury Park Place from 19 October until 13 November. The affected section is on the southern side of the road, beginning 10 metres northwest of the junction with Holdenhurst Road and extending for approximately 67 metres. As with Henville Road, parking bays will be suspended as the gas mains work moves along the road. BCP Council said emergency services will continue to have full access during the works. Access to properties will also remain available, subject to site safety requirements. Drivers using the affected roads should therefore check the temporary restrictions before parking and allow extra time to find alternative spaces while work is underway. The council has also warned that the arrangements could be amended or extended if the works overrun or are affected by adverse weather. The restrictions are being introduced under a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order to allow SGN to carry out the gas mains replacement safely. The order allows the restrictions to remain in force for up to 18 months and they can be extended further with approval from the Secretary of State. For motorists in the area, the immediate changes mean some parking bays will be unavailable during October and November while the work progresses.
