Decision expected on 8 September The CPZ was last reviewed 17 years ago, but the City says the area has grown and travel habits have changed since then. The proposed changes are aimed at better managing the limited kerbside space available across the City of London. One change under consideration is when motorists would be allowed to park on single-yellow lines. The review is also considering when drivers would need to pay for on-street parking, with a maximum stay of four hours applying under the proposals. Parking charges could also vary depending on the time of day and day of the week. However, the proposals would not affect disabled parking, loading restrictions or residents' off-street parking. A six-week public consultation on the potential changes ran from 20 May until 1 July 2026, and the City is now reviewing the feedback received. A decision on whether any changes should be introduced is expected at the Planning & Transportation Committee meeting on 8 September. If changes are agreed, drivers and other interested parties will have another opportunity to provide feedback during a second consultation planned for autumn 2026. The current review follows an approach approved at the City of London's Planning and Transportation Committee meeting on 13 March 2026.
