Heathrow Terminal 4's multi-storey car park permanently closed in June 2026 as part of a wider redevelopment. Drivers can now use Zone A of the Terminal 4 Park & Ride car park for up to two hours free, while the terminal's drop-off area remains open and Meet & Greet parking is unavailable.
Heathrow Terminal 4 Car Park Closure Changes Parking for Drivers Drivers using Heathrow Terminal 4 are facing changed parking arrangements after the terminal's multi-storey car park permanently closed as part of a major redevelopment. The Terminal 4 multi-storey car park closed on 23 June 2026 because Heathrow said it had reached the end of its life and needed to be redeveloped to meet modern safety and accessibility standards. A new multi-storey car park is planned as part of the wider redevelopment, alongside changes to the terminal forecourt. Free parking available for up to two hours Passengers who previously used the closed car park have been directed to Zone A of the Terminal 4 Park & Ride car park. Heathrow is currently allowing drivers to park in Zone A for free for up to two hours, making it an alternative for people accompanying departing passengers or meeting arrivals. After two hours, standard Park & Ride charges apply. Free shuttle buses run between Zone A and Terminal 4 every five minutes, with the journey taking around 10 minutes according to Heathrow. Passengers who have already pre-booked regular Park & Ride parking should continue to use Zones B, C and D. Terminal 4 drop-off remains open The closure of the multi-storey car park does not prevent drivers from reaching the terminal by car. The departures drop-off area on Level 4 remains open, although Heathrow's Terminal Drop-Off Charge still applies. There is also a Priority Pick-Up area outside the arrivals hall on Level 1 for drivers making quick collections. Drivers who want to park and enter the terminal to meet an arriving passenger can instead use Zone A and take the shuttle bus to the terminal. Meet & Greet parking unavailable Heathrow's Meet & Greet parking service at Terminal 4 is currently unavailable because of the redevelopment work. The airport said the wider project is intended to modernise the Terminal 4 parking and forecourt areas, improve accessibility and safety, make wayfinding easier and improve traffic flow. The terminal itself remains open while the redevelopment continues. For drivers heading to Heathrow Terminal 4, the changes mean it is important to check the parking arrangements before setting off rather than relying on the former multi-storey car park. Planning parking in advance can also help drivers avoid unnecessary delays when dropping off passengers, collecting arrivals or accompanying someone into the terminal. EveryonesParking can help drivers look for parking options before travelling, particularly when airport parking arrangements change or the usual car park is unavailable. Public transport services to Terminal 4 remain unaffected by the car park redevelopment.
