Part of the upper car park at Leavesden Country Park in Abbots Langley has closed for five days while essential maintenance takes place. The work began on September 21, with Three Rivers District Council apologising for the temporary disruption to visitors.
Leavesden Country Park Parking Spaces Closed During Five-Day Maintenance Drivers visiting Leavesden Country Park are being asked to find alternative parking after part of the site's car park was closed for essential maintenance. The work began on Monday, September 21, at the upper car park on College Road in Abbots Langley and is expected to last for five days. The temporary closure means motorists cannot use the affected parking spaces while the maintenance work is carried out. Three Rivers District Council has apologised for the inconvenience caused to people visiting the country park during the works. The closure affects the upper car park at Leavesden Country Park, which is used by visitors arriving to enjoy the site's range of outdoor facilities. The 27-hectare country park includes walking and cycling paths, a football pitch, wildlife areas, tennis courts, a children's play area and an outdoor gym. With part of the car park unavailable, visitors are being advised to take the reduced parking availability into account when planning their journey. The maintenance follows previous improvement work at the entrance to the upper car park. Those improvements included widening the entrance to three times its previous width and installing a traffic island so vehicles can enter and leave at the same time. The car park normally operates from 6.30am until 10pm each day, giving visitors access throughout most of the day. However, the temporary maintenance closure means the usual parking arrangements are different this week. Anyone planning a visit during the five-day period may want to allow additional time to find a suitable parking space before arriving at the country park. Planning parking in advance can be particularly useful when temporary closures reduce the number of spaces available at popular destinations. EveryonesParking can help drivers search for parking options before setting off, making it easier to plan ahead when a usual car park is temporarily unavailable. The maintenance is expected to last for five days, meaning the affected parking should return to normal after the work is completed, subject to the progress of the essential works.
