It will provide direct access to the main shopping area, making it easier for residents and visitors to reach the town centre. The 426-space facility will include 31 accessible parking bays for drivers who need them. Electric vehicle charging points will also be available at the new car park. Construction work has included the diversion of the nearby Gypsey Race stream, with a new green space planned around it. The council described the project as an important part of the wider regeneration strategy for Bridlington town centre. Council leader Anne Handley said the opening would address historic parking challenges that have affected the town during busy seasons. She also described the facility as a modern gateway into Bridlington and said the investment would make it easier for residents to shop locally and tourists to explore the town centre. The new car park is expected to open in October, giving drivers a new parking option close to Bridlington's shopping area. The project is intended to provide longer-term support for the local economy while improving parking provision during the town's busier periods.
