Drivers Get Cheaper Parking in Torbay Town Centres This Christmas

Torbay Introduces Cheap Parking Offer for Christmas Shoppers Drivers heading into Brixham, Paignton and Torquay this Christmas are being offered cheaper parking as Torbay Council launches a seasonal parking scheme designed to support local town centres. The offer will run from November 28, 2026 until January 3, 2027, allowing drivers to pay for an hour and park all day at participating locations, subject to the individual car park's conditions. The council says the scheme is intended to encourage people to spend longer in the three town centres during the busy Christmas shopping period. In Brixham, the participating car parks are Freshwater, Oxen Cove and the Central Car Park, with a maximum stay of three hours. In Paignton, the offer applies at the Victoria Surface Level and Hyde Road temporary car parks. The participating Torquay locations are Lower Union Lane, Union Square and Harbour car parks. Torbay Council says the initiative is designed to increase footfall for town centre businesses during the Christmas season. The council also wants the offer to encourage residents and visitors to spend locally rather than travelling to out-of-town shopping areas where free parking may be available nearby. For drivers, the scheme could make town-centre parking more attractive during a period when shoppers are likely to be making longer visits. It also gives motorists another reason to check parking options before setting off, particularly when travelling to a busy town centre during the Christmas period. However, drivers should still check the conditions at their chosen car park before leaving their vehicle, including any maximum stay that applies. The offer covers a number of car parks across all three towns, giving visitors several options depending on where they are heading. Seasonal parking schemes such as this can also highlight the importance of planning ahead when demand for spaces increases during busy shopping periods. Drivers visiting Torbay can use EveryonesParking to plan their parking before setting off, helping them identify suitable parking options before arriving in a busy town centre. With the Christmas shopping season approaching, the temporary offer gives drivers and local businesses a parking change to keep an eye on from November 28.
