Westbury Car Park Charges to Rise by 20% From September 4 Parking charges at Wiltshire Council-owned car parks in Westbury will increase from 4 September, with motorists facing an average rise of 20 per cent. The revised tariffs will apply at High Street, Warminster Road and Westfield House car parks, with another increase planned for 2028. Short-stay car parks will operate with parking charges from 7am to 7pm, Monday to Saturday, while long-stay car parks will operate from 8am to 6pm. Sunday charging will run from 10am to 4pm, changing the times when motorists will need to pay for parking in the town. There is some relief for local residents, as they can currently park for one hour free because Westbury Town Council pays a subsidy to Wiltshire Council. At High Street Car Park, the new tariff will see motorists pay £1.30 for two hours, while an all-day stay will cost £7.80. At Warminster Road and Westfield House car parks, parking will cost £1.20 for two hours, with an all-day charge of £6.50. The increases mean drivers who regularly use Westbury car parks will need to factor the higher parking charges into the cost of visits to the town. Season ticket prices will also increase in line with the revised parking tariffs, although they will remain discounted compared with paying the normal daily parking charge. The changes form part of the wider revised parking tariffs being introduced across Wiltshire Council-owned car parks. For Westbury drivers, the immediate change will come into effect on 4 September, with the revised charging periods and higher tariffs applying at the three named car parks. A further increase is also scheduled for 2028, meaning parking costs are set to rise again for motorists using the affected council-owned car parks. For residents, the existing one-hour free parking arrangement remains an important part of the changes, supported by the subsidy currently paid by Westbury Town Council. Drivers using the town's car parks should therefore check the new tariffs and charging times from 4 September before parking, particularly if they normally stay for several hours or use a season ticket.
